Sonoff RF bridge doesn't learn remote buttons, always times out

I'm trying to get the Sonoff Bridge to learn remote codes from this remote APA3-1500R. This remote is operating at 433.92MHz

The bridge goes into learning mode, I hear a beep and the red led is flashing. However, I try many times to learn different buttons, but it always fails after one minute with a timeout error.

This way the bridge is useless to me. I'm following the instructions closely. Is there a way to fix this? Can you release a firmware update?

Thanks,

Johan

Received my rf device and it times out no matter what 433 remote I try. I updated the firmware, but the issue remains. No pairing. I have tried Telldus compliant remotes and my garage remote. The big question! Has anyone been able to pair any remote to the Sonoff RF?
Does hacking the firmware mean it can learn any commands, or is it just a better interface? Also do you lose Alexa and Google home integration?
I had high hopes that the bridge would work with my DSC alarm system so I could use Alexa to arm/disarm it. But the Sonoff bridge does not recognize the commands from the alarm's 433.92MHz key fob.

Unfortunately the key fob encoding scheme is not mentioned in the FCC registration, which is the only technical document I could find on it. Here are the details: https://fccid.io/F5300NB919

I also tried a few other 433MHz key fobs I had lying around; Garage door openers, remote car keys, etc. None were recognized (learning phase times out). I also checked the bridge's internal S2 slide switch and confirmed it was on. I also cycled the switch on/off many times.

So it appears that the encoding compatibility of the RF bridge is too limited. Hopefully there is a solution for this soon.

See here for an example: http://tinkerman.cat/hacking-sonoff-rf-bridge-433/

The device is an ESP8266 so you can completely reprogram it to do whatever you want. You do, however, need to be willing to learn how to program.....

....and here's code written by someone who is trying to get the thing to support more devices!

I have the same problem. I am in UK and assumed it would work for Liftmaster roller garage doors.  No good.

The LIftmaster doors are pretty smart in that they can learn the code of a new remote - pity I can't get the thing to generate its own code and get the door to learn it.

Será que um leigo no assunto, um simples usuário como eu poderia adquirir um produto desse?  ou esse dispositivo é feito só para especialista?

It's not entirely clear whether simply flashing ESPurna would mean this now supports far more RF devices/commands or not? I'm not sure what the use of the second link is if ESPurna already supports various devices.

I can program and I'm comfortable in Linux, but I don't have an arduino programmer, I'd have to look into that.

I am trying Leif Funder's clever solution - I have ordered a cloning remote - I will let you know if it works.

Hi, I bought recently 5 pcs Sonoff RF. The pairing with the Wi-Fi LAN is easy and works fine. The pairing with the RF tx is not working. I followed several procedure, both by using the switch on the main board and with the switch on the rx. By using the pairing straight on the IM160127001,is it possible to pair all 4 buttons, but the button A, if paired, does not have any effect. The button B, if paired, works, but also the C and D are working at the same time, so you can use only one remote commander that operates simultaneosly al Sonoff RF within the RF range. The problem seems in the interpretation of the code present at I/O port P0.0, P0.1, P0.2, P0.3 of the EFM8BB10F. Any solution to fix this bug?

Hmmm..... I've got the same problem. Had high hopes but have tried four different 433 remotes, and not one of them works. Cracked open the case, and the switch was in the 'on' (or learning) position. Symptom is it beeps when going into learning mode, the red light flashes away, but nothing happens so it eventually times out. Moving the switch to off means it doesn't go into learning mode at all.

Have tried sliding the switch up & down a number of times (as Andrew C did) but sadly have not had a win. Have tried different power sources (in case perhaps it was a power quality thing). The thing is a desk ornament for now.... sigh.

Naming in alexa. I used a sonoff bridge. I used a 3 gang switch and can control and and off the light using the ewelink app no problem with that. in the ewelink i used the 3-button control and its working. when i discover the device with alexa yes it was listed. I can turn on now the light on,and its working, problem is when i say alexa turn off garage light it doesnt work. sometimes it says, the server doesn't recognize that. Please help. this may have something to do with naming. The sonoff bridge is not listed by the way in the alexa ,  in the hub category.  Its is however recognized on the others category. Thanks for the help in advance.

Thanks Teddy. But  how then did you use the naming code so that it will be recognized by alexa? Rf bridge as per specification can handle 16 devices.

Hi, today I've received the sonoff RF bridge and I have been try to link several kind of remote controllers but anyone of them has linked.

I'm very disappointed.

Anyone knows if flashing with another firmware this can be solved?
