Sonoff looses Wifi connection

Hi,

My Sonoff has the problem that it frequently looses the connection to "the server".

When I Power on the Sonoff it connect to "the server". After some seconds the green LED is constantly green, and the Sonoff can be switched on/off via the App.

Some time (sometimes a few minutes, sometime 15 minutes) later the the green starts blinking "fast", and the App reports the device disconnected. Waiting for a reconnection does not change tis, it stays unconnected.

I checked that the Wifi Router is working.

When I remove power from the Sonoff and power it up again, the Sonoff "boots" and after some seconds the led is constantly green again, and is accessible by the App.

In this way the Sonoff is not able, so what can I do? I guess the Sonoff should reconnect automatically, or this not implemented?

Regards.

not much progress in this story.
i got 2 devices who has the same problems. just 2 m away of a acces point. but  losing connection over and over
logging on the wifi says something with wap/skk authentication error.  is the device forgetful?

This is going to be a random issue, all my Sonoff devices are disconnecting from time to time however the WiFi light stays on but they are inaccessible from cloud services like Alexa or IFTTT. They work fine within LAN.

I have escalated this already to Ewelink/Sonoff but I don't think this is going to be fixed soon.

Recently I have switched to Sonoff Zigbee and for the last 2 weeks is seams to be stable on both LAN and Cloud.

Not sure what is the root cause but there are days where all is working fine w/o any issue and days where all they stuck one by one

After few days of fighting wight Sonoff pairing process I have installed the light switches (I had to rework the installation to have N). Now, I see one switch is disconnecting from wifi, second (i have two switches, side by side) is working fine. Btw. Since I'm checking this forum, I never saw Sonoff team answering. This is making me sure, Sonoff is not the best choice ;)

Hi, So I had similar issue and spent lots of time on troubleshoiting. Finally, the solution came itself. I changed the ISP and all the problems got fixed. What I suspect, some ISP cuts some protocols or reduce information from the package or frame. This helps them to save on the speed so the end user can achieve a better performance. TCP/IP protocol forces each incomplete frame to be resent therefore this setup does not affect regular internet browsing or online live streaming however, network devices like in this case Sonoff use there own protocol. In this case, Sonoff devices are not able to report online status properly and on the server side they got disconnected I suspect in order to maintain high security level. My advice, if this is affecting all your devices like I was the case for me, change ISP. It is worth to also run test in Mobile Phone hot-spot I was before with Vodafone who were not able to resolve my problem. Currently with local ISP (Eircom) and running with no issues at all.

if your feature request is related to all SONOFF product, then the [Product Model] can be written as [All models], if it is related to eWeLink APP only, write it as [eWeLink

Try the opposite solution proposed by SonOff. Use Static IP by router DHCP assination by MAC for your Sonoff switches

I just bought a sonoff zb bridge and couldn't add it to my wifi with asus access points. Trick was to disable "airtime fairness" on the routers but I also had to make sure my ssid and key was just letters and numbers (this is dumb).

Another quirk was that when I tried adding with "airtime fairness" disabled but the ssid having punctuation marks, it didn't work but then it continued to not work even if I try to add it to a ssid without punctuations. I finally got it to work by holding down the pairing button/hole for over 20 seconds... I think holding it down enough reset it to defaults.
