Garage Door opener status

A new product that would be very useful would be an Inching /Self-Locking WiFi Wireless Switch with 2 leads that could be connected to something such as a reed switch that would report back the status as being open or closed.  This would make a simple WiFi device that could be used on items such as a garage door opener.  I use a Itching /Self-Locking WiFi Wireless Switch  now to control my opener but having the reporting feature would be very beneficial.

I'm using a sonoff momentary switch right now to control my door. It would be very easy for Itead to incorporate an open or closed status using a simple magnetic reed switch.

Hi ITEAD. THIS IS A GREAT IDEA . WHEN YOU IMPLEMENT THE REED SENSOR SONOFF BASIC AND SV. THIS IS GOOD FOR GARAGE DOOR , GATES , ETC. WE CAN DO THIS NOW BY FLASHING A CUSTOM FIRMWARE . BUT ALL OF US WILL BE GLAD TO USE YOUR EWELINK APP. WE ALL WANT TO KEEP THE FACTORY FIRMWARE.

I HOPE SOMEONE FROM ITEAD WILL BE SMART TO SEE THE POTENTIAL IN THIS UPGRADE

I attach a diagram. Can anyone build this into Ewelink/Sonoff without flashing?

Here is a simple solution. Anyone with in depth knowledge of the sonoff can advice if there is a way to trigger a point on the sonoff to do this

Its a very simple implementation which ITEAD could do. Hard wire a reed switch onto the board so that if the circuit is closed then the switch is off - garage closed. When you trigger the garage to open the reed switch open circuits and the switch is shown as on - garage open. If someone manually closes the door, the reed switch closes and triggers the sonoff to off state. - door closed.

This seems a great idea and implementation, if only it worked with ewelink. Itead should get on it.

Hi ITEAD,

It would also be nice to be able to adjust the length of the pulse (i.e. to a specified number of milliseconds) for a baud new range of possible uses.

Estou usando TH10 para controlar meu portão! Com o auxílio de um Nodmcu para emitir pulso para abrir e fechar e o sensor de humidade para contar o tempo do último estado . Ex: 100% de humidade aberto. 00% fechado. 33% de humidade 1/3 aberto. Funcionando perfeitamente.

I would agree.

Question for you guys when I try and hook my relay up to my garage door motor on the same terminals as my wired In wall button it kills power to my wired wall switch. Does anyone know why or a fix for this?

I like this idea that Dee has proposed, why can this not be made standard kit, made available to operate the opening closing of garage doors and gates, having the reed switch connections would enable it to work on Ewelink without the need for flashing and using other software and coding, Meross have made one why Carn’t ITEAD ?

Hi Eddie, the link you posted doesn't work... Good idea to realise an input for a switching sensor and give it's status to ewelink. I would use it to control my coffee maschine for starting the warmup by using/controlling the signal to the power LED (looking if it's on, off or switching it on if it's off) Regards Michael

Questions: Does anyone know the details of the board used in the Eachen gd-dc5, Garage door opener kit. I notice it has a reed switch for state detection reporting to eWeLINK (Just what I need!). How do they do the censor detection on their board? And is the relay circuit dry or can it be modified to be dry? I would be interested in accomplishing its capabilities in a DIY way.

Is there any plan to release a solution as described above. Can Itead please reply

Itead needs to look at this and make their own.
